How to Upgrade Windows Vista to
Windows 7   
(using Windows Easy Transfer)

   You can Upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 in four Steps

Step 1 - Backup al your personal data from windows partition manually or using Windows Easy Transfer
            Note: You need to download Windows Easy Transfer for Windows Vista to Win 7 (32.bit)
            Note                                       Windows Easy Transfer for Windows Vista to Win 7 (64.bit)
Step 2 - Prepare for a clean install of Windows 7 ( a clean install will remake the system partition ).
             - a) Windows 7 disk and your product key
             - b) Computer drivers (if you don`t have them go to the manufacturer site and download them)
             - c) Learn how to boot from cd/dvd-rom
Step 3 - Install Windows 7
Step 4 - After windows have all drivers is updated and secure use Windows Easy Transfer to access your
             data.
    
   Step 1

    Start Windows Easy Transfer from Start->All Programs
On User Account Control pop-up press Continue
After you chose what to transfer click Next
To protect your backup you can provide a password then click Save
Choose where you want to save your backup then click Save
To continue, click Next
To continue, click Next
Click Close to finish.
Go to Customize then Advanced and choose what you want to backup. To continue click Save
Choose This is my old computer
Choose An external hard disk or USB flash drive
Press Next
Up Back
To begin installation press Install now.  
Check I accept the license terms and press Next.  
Click on Custom (advanced ) section to continue.  
Press Drive options (advanced).  
Select your settings and press Next.  
Press Delete to remake system partition.  
Windows setup will warn you that If you format this partition, all data stored on it will be permanently
deleted. Press OK to continue

Note: Because Windows Vista don`t have a System Reserved partition it will be automatically created when
you want to remake the system partition.
Press New to recreate your system partition partition.  
Leave the same Size and press Apply.  
Press Next to begin install .  
Setup will continue after restart.  
If previously in bios you selected that your CD/DVD/RW to be your first boot device you will be prompted to
press any key to begin the installation.
Do not press any key because you will start another installation, just wait the installation to continue.

Enter Your Name then press Next to continue.  
You can provide a password now or later for your account.  
Select Use recommended settings.  
Review your time and data settings then press Next.  
Enter Your Product Key then press Next to continue.
Note: You can leave it blank press Next and register your product later.
   Step 3

   Assuming that you covered Step 2 you can begin Windows 7 installation by inserting Windows 7
installation disk in your cd/dvd-rom device and restart your computer.

    Start Windows Easy Transfer from Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools
Press Next
Choose An external hard disk or USB flash drive
Choose This is my new computer
Choose Yes
Go where you have saved you backup select the file and press Open
To continue, press Transfer
To finish, press Close
